Jon Bon Jovi
Born: March 2, 1962--Perth Amboy, New Jersey

Parents: John Sr. Bongiovi and Carol Bongiovi (nee Sharkey)

Siblings:Anthony and Matthew

Former Bands:Atlantic City Expressway, The Rest, The Lechers, John Bongiovi and The Wild Ones

1st single:Runaway recorded at the Power Station (Jon's cousin Tony was his connection for demos and recordings at this studio)

Tours: Opened for the Scorpions, Kiss and Judas Priest until the mega hit Slippery When Wet and then the boys were headliners!! Gruelling non- stop world tours began with Slippery and continued with New Jersey, Keep The Faith, Cross Roads (in Europe), and These Days. Hopefully that is just the beginning! The tours get better and better as the years go on-longer sets, bigger stadiums, terrific stages and tonnes of enthusiasm!!!

Career Highlights:Playing in the former USSR at Lenin Stadium. Selling out Giants Stadium in 1989 for the New Jersey Homecoming. Playing 3 sold out nights in a row at London's Wembley stadium in 1995. Massive sales of the album Cross Roads in the 1990's ---a time when BJ wasn't seen as cool like the Seattle grunge!! The song Always was a huge hit around the world and topped as Bon Jovi's number one selling single!!! THE BOYS ARE DEFINATLEY BACK!!

Marital Status:Married Dorothea R. Hurley April 29, 1989. The two eloped in Vegas and 8 years later remain happily married and just as in love as their high school days. The two are proud parents of Stephanie Rose born May 31, 1993 and Jesse James Louis born February 19, 1995. Jon is the doting and protective dad. He says that he and Dorothea are looking forward to more kids in the future.

Solo Albums: Jon did the music for the film -Young Guns 2--!!He began with a few songs but as we know Jon doesn't ever do anything without doing it right!!He completed a full album for the movie and it was released in 1990 along with the film. The first single -Blaze of Glory shot to the top of the charts and proved to Jon that he could do it on his own. This album came at a time when all the band members needed to branch out on their own and see who they really were as musicians, as well as, people. It proved to be beneficial and very healthy to Bon Jovi as a band. After completing their individual creative projects the band regrouped to bring up Keep The Faith.

Jon has recently finished his first "official" solo album entitled DESTINATION ANYWHERE. It is set to be released worldwide in June of this year (1997). The rumoured release date is June 16, 1997! The first single is called Midnight In Chelsea and will be released in mid May. After a year of Jovi down time we will finally be getting some new material to listen to for hours on end!! This much anticipated album is sure to be an interesting and experimental one. Jon worked with some talented musicians including Dave Stewart on this latest project. Iam sure you all agree that the results will be worth the wait!! Stay tuned for my own personal review of the album!

Jon recently shot footage in NYC with Demi Moore, Whoopi Goldberg and Ed Burns for a mini movie video for his solo album. He has been quoted as saying that it is a half hour film that tells a short story. It incorporates several of the songs from the album (presumably ones the that will be singles). He says that MTVand VH1 have agreed to play it. I am hoping that this will be the case. I am a bit skeptical though, since they rarely play a 4 minute Bon Jovi video let alone a full half hour film. The success of this type of music promotion has yet to be determined---but Jon has always been one to take risks and prove all the critics wrong. So please Jon prove me wrong--make this the best music vid ever and get all the coverage and air play that's possible. If anyone can it's you!!IBELIEVE!!

Movie Career: Jon was secretly studying with an acting coach in New York during his time off between albums. He has been working on his acting skills since 1990 and recently we have begun to see the results of his labour. Moonlight and Valentino was released in theatres last fall and although his part was small he filled the screen and the role with his presence. (see movie link for more details). His next project, The Leading Man, has been released in some European countries and has received rave reviews for Jon's acting. I am however not to sure that the North American fans will have the opportunity to see this film. Since it was an independent film it appears that we will not get the chance to see it in our theatres (it was not picked up by anyone). The next film Jon was involved in was Homegrown a 90's drug culture movie that will hit theatres in the fall. Little City and Long Time Nothing New are also two projects that Jon has on the go. So it appears that Jonny has branched out into the Hollywood scene which is great with me as long as he never forgets the music because that is his sacred gift.

What's next??Jon has said that June will be a promotional time for Destination Anywhere. He will be doing interviews all over the world to promote the album and has hinted at doing a few select shows in main cities. A full tour has been set aside because of the difficulty of pulling together a band to tour, as well as, a busy movie schedule. So start the presses rolling and get the VCR's ready it's Jovi time!!
